New Yankee Stadium curse plot foiled

Posted On: Mon, 04/14/2008 - 7:13pm by Lucky Clover

A construction worker took a one day Union job at the new Yankees Stadium and buried a Red Sox jersey just behind home plate in an attempt to curse the new stadium and it's home team. The rivalry between Boston Red Sox fans and the New York Yankees fans is deep rooted and bitter. The construction worker, a Red Sox fan, thought by planting the jersey two feet below the surface behind home plate he would jinx the Yankees and their new stadium. The culprit reported to the New York Post he took a job at the site just to "jinx that stadium," and worked only a single day. Officials spent about 15 minutes digging with a jackhammer and removed the supposedly unlucky relic, a David Ortiz #34 Red Sox jersey. The Yankees may seek legal action against the rebellious construction worker.
